Angelica's First Sleepover

Last night, we left Angelica with my sister so we could attend a holiday party, and she spent the night! In two and a half years we have not gone to sleep in a house without Angelica being there. It was strange, but not nearly as strange as I would have thought!

The cool thing about it is that my sister's kids (Angelica's cousins) are her best friends. My nephew is 18 months older than Angelica, and my niece is two months younger, so together they make quite the trio! They go to daycare together, too. I feel really fortunate that the three of them can grow up together and be such good friends in addition to being family.

Anyway, back to my point! Angelica was THRILLED to be spending the night at what she called "Willyanna's house!" (My nephew is Willy, my niece is Anna.) She talked about it all day long, and even when we went to my company's annual "Santa Land" (a big Christmas event for the kids) where she got just about the coolest toy ever (A Dora the Explorer electric guitar!) she was still super thrilled to leave so she could go!

From what I hear, she got a good report card and behaved well (though she taught her OLDER cousin to be scared of bad guys in movies!) And it was kind of nice to have some freedom. Scott and I went to the holiday party for his department for a little bit, then we went out on a mini-date.

But we didn't realize how empty the house had been until she was back in it. :)
