The BIG Self

I know that I've mentioned many times now how Angelica is an incredibly independent child. A few days ago she started using a phrase to assert her independence that cracks me up on a regular basis...even when she's being defiant and I'm getting angry!

It started with me trying to get her to take on some basic responsibilities (putting her dishes in the sink, putting her dirty clothes in the hamper, etc) by asking her to be a "big, big help".

So she bought into that really well...in fact, when she needs me to do something for her she asks, "mommy, you can do me a big big favor?" Plus, she was getting really good about helping me pick up at the end of the night. But the best part?

Now when she wants to do something all by herself, she no longer says, "I wanna do it!" Instead, she says:

"I need to do it my BIG self!"

As if she needs to remind me that she's getting BIG. :) I love this little girl!
