60 Quick & Easy Science Experiments with Every Day Items {Review & Giveaway}

I am all about providing opportunities to learn in our household. Angelica is exceptionally bright and catches on to things easily. I am very glad to have had the opportunity to review Touch of Home Learning's 60 Quick & Easy Science Experiments with Everyday Items e-book because it not only showed me a few new things I could teach Angelica, but it also proved that you don't need to spend a ton of money to create a learning environment in your home.

The experiments in this book are geared toward kids aged 3-7, but even though, at 2 1/2, Angelica is slightly younger than the target age group, we still really enjoyed doing some of these experiments together!

Most of the experiments presented in this book can REALLY be done with items you have at home. (I have even learned through this book just how versatile and useful vinegar can be!) There are a few that you may need to run out and spend a couple of bucks at the craft store to pick up some items for, but really, most of the stuff you need is hidden in your cabinets.

The variety of experiments in the book is great too. It is divided into 12 themes, and most of the individual experiments within a theme only take a few minutes. Each complete theme can generally be completed in under an hour.

For older kids, this book can be a great way to get ideas for science projects for school, and for reinforcing subjects they may already be learning.

This ebook would be GREAT for:
  • Teachers, especially elementary school level, looking for inexpensive ideas for quick class projects.
  • Homeschooling parents who are looking for supplementary material for their science curriculum.
  • Stay at home moms of preschoolers looking for educational material that's suitable for their little ones.
  • Daycare directors and teachers who want something simple but educational to entertain their classes.
  • Working moms of preschool and elementary students who want to enhance their child's in-class learning on evenings and weekends (this is me!)
From this list, you can really see just how valuable this material can be for you and your children!

Angelica and I had a lot of fun with the Bubbles theme. The pictures below are from the Vinegar and Baking Soda experiment.

This was all that was needed for the experiment!

Angelica adds baking soda to the vinegar/soap solution

Look! LOTS of bubbles!
(Note: there's food on the table because the only time I can generally get her to sit still is during meal times. She was very excited to do this "game" though!)
