Happy 4th of July!

This post is a few days late, but I've been sick AND celebrating!

This year was Angelica's fourth 4th of July! The Independence Day weekend is a big deal for us, since Scott and I celebrate our wedding anniversary on the 5th, so we always try to do it big. This year, we took Angelica to Leu Gardens, where Scott and I got married, and then did our annual tradition of going to a local park for fireworks. (Scott and I have been going there since before Angelica was even a notion.)

If you remember my 4th of July post from last year, the fireworks did NOT go over well. This year, she got twice the fireworks (we went to watch a display in Altamonte Springs from a distance on the 3rd) and was SO excited. All day long she kept saying, "When it gets dark and the sun goes down, we will go to the park and see FIIIIRRREEEWOORRKKKSSS and they will go BOOM! BOOM!" Too cute!

Leu Gardens didn't go over well. She was tired. She was in a rotten mood. She walked around for about ten minutes, sat down to eat a snack and then just wanted to GO. I was so disappointed because I'd been looking forward to bringing her there and taking pictures of her in the spot where we were married, but she just wasn't having it. So we left.

That evening, we headed to the park for more fun. Angelica spent a lot of time running around in the big open baseball field where we sat to watch the fireworks. It was so cute...she kept telling me, "Okay, Mommy, when I run, you have to yell 'that's too far' and I will come back!" And then she'd run, and I'd yell "That's too far!" and she'd yell "Okay!" and come running back. She did that for a few hours. She got really, really sweaty.

Scott also bought her a red, white, and blue Italian ice. She loved it.

Then Scott and I took turns chasing her around...

And then she did more running (and of course, asking me to tell her when she goes "too far")

She kept posing like this, standing in this position, and then taking off running. It was so funny!

This was too far. :)

She was SO SWEATY.
Finally, it was time for the fireworks! There were a few times where she got a little scared and leapt into my lap, but for the most part she was cheering and smiling and so excited to be watching them!

Her skirt got a little hiked up from sitting in my lap....lol

Blurry, but it shows her joy :)

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July!
