Our Florida Vacation!

We just got back a couple of days ago from a fun week in Sunny Florida! We went back home for my niece, Anna's, 4th birthday, and spent time with friends and family who we have missed since moving to Boston earlier this year. All in all, we had a terrific time. Angelica did a great job on the flight up there! She was such a happy camper flyer.

We landed late that night and headed to the hotel room to sleep. The next day, we woke up and headed right to Angelica's favorite place to play in the Orlando area, Amaya Papaya!

(Forgive the quality of some of these...I left my camera in the hotel room so these were taken with my iPod.)

From there, we headed to my parents house to visit. Angelica was reunited with her cousins and judging from the fact that they were hugging and kissing each other like crazy, you can tell that neither time nor distance could break that bond.

This was at dinner at Giovanni's. It was dark. Crappy picture but they were happy :)
The next day, I went to visit some old coworkers/friends, and Scott and Angelica hung out around the pool and the hotel room until I got back. From there, I took Angelica to her favorite mall to ride her favorite mall train and merry go round!

When we were done there, we went to visit our friends Meridith and Jay, and their son Victor, who is one of Angelica's best friends!

The next day we went to see our friends Sam and Garrett, and Angelica was reunited with her boyfriend Aidan and his adorable little sister Peyton!

Aidan is a Jenga master, but Angelica was inventing her own version of the game...
Saturday was Anna's birthday party! My sister had the party at a movie theater, so the kids got to eat pizza and cake, Anna got to open presents, AND they got to see a movie! My sister's sister in law also made some adorable Lorax cake pops for the party!

Priceless :)
The AWESOME Lorax cake pops! These tasted even better than they look!
Right after the party, we dashed over to have dinner with Scott's sister Tarah. It was SO great to see her! She drove down from Jacksonville just to have dinner with us and went right back. I wish we had more time to spend with her. Angelica had SUCH a great time...I don't think she stopped laughing for a minute!

The next day, Angelica was finally reunited with her BFF Rylie! LeeAnn wrote up a great recap of their visit on her blog, but here are a few of the shots that I took of our girls hanging out and having fun together! Angelica is already talking about the next time she wants to visit Rylie, and I really hope it's sooner rather than later. She missed her SO MUCH!

The next day we drove up to Palm Coast to visit Scott's grandfather. We had a really great day with him! We went swimming in his pool and had lunch, and hung out at the house for awhile. Angelica played and talked to her great grandpa and ate M&Ms :)

That night, after we got back, Angelica spent the night with her cousins, and Scott and I went to the Orlando Ale House for a date night, and I had THIS:
A 32oz pitcher of "sangria" with a straw -- quotations, because I am pretty sure there was no alcohol in it.

Finally, the last day of our trip, we got everything packed and ready to go, and had dinner with my sister's family at Tijuana Flats. I LOVE that restaurant, and since it's a Florida-only chain, I'm glad we got a chance to go.

The Kids Table
Angelica stayed over with her cousins again, and Scott and I took that opportunity to go out on another date and see Moonrise Kingdom at The Enzian. If that movie is showing near you, and you have a chance, go see it!

Finally, it was time to go home...

At first, Angelica was really bummed out about leaving. But that didn't last long. This happened only moments after we got off the plane in Boston...

All in all, it was a wonderful trip. There are things we wanted to do and people that we wanted to see but we ran out of time before we could do it all. Hopefully we get the time (and money) to go back and do it all again soon!

It's nice to see that you don't need to go to theme parks to have a great time in Florida. Family and friends mean so much.

Whatever you do speak, speak and speak..
