Another Potty Training Update

More tales of poopies and peepee! You've been warned!

Well, we've got #1 under control. We just need to get a #2 in the potty!

Angelica is now using the potty for #1 about 95% of the time. She even wakes up dry MOST mornings! It's amazing. I feel like I'm hardly ever reaching for a diaper anymore...I think the last time I put one on her was the other night when she drank an obscene amount of water before bed.

The last accident I witnessed was on Tuesday when I picked her up at school, and her reaction to it just melted my heart. She was mid-pee when I walked into the room, and she stood up, saw me, and her face turned red from embarrassment and she started to cry. I took her into her classroom (they were out in the big play room) and closed the door, told her it was okay and we'd get it in the potty the next time. My poor sensitive girl!

Then yesterday, she had two poopie accidents during the day. Her teacher told me that after the first one she was embarrassed and started to cry again! But then...with the second...she thought it was hilarious. Maybe she was trying to laugh herself out of feeling sad? Who knows. Maybe the embarrassment will eventually help her get the poopie IN the potty, though.

She does take a LOT of pride in getting to the potty though. She will stop whatever she's doing, yank her pants down and yell, "I gotta go potty! Hurry! Before the peepee comes!" and bolt down the hallway. Then when she actually does go, she'll say, "Look Mommy! I'm doing it!"

She's gone back to using the kiddie pot though..which is fine, she empties it out into the big potty herself and then flushes. Yesterday she even got a piece of toilet paper and wiped it out all by herself! (While I stood next to her and cringed at the thought of her having pee on her hands...) She has no aversion to using a normal potty when we go out places so I guess it's not a bad thing.

I'm proud of my little kiddo. Other than the #2s, I can't believe how easy this has been!
